What does the Chicago Public School system know anyway? The good news is now she won't end up like I did in a class with a bunch of 6 year old weirdos who spent their after school hours learning German and algebra while I was playing baseball, going to ballet and Brownies and asking mom, "Why is everybody smarter than me?" I am not kidding.
As usual Laura, you make a lot of sense. :) Thank you...it doesn't bother me that she isn't seen as "gifted" - it just bothers me that she's seen as "not gifted." Does that make any sense at all? Anyway, the pressure's off now and she can just enjoy learning..wherever we send her.
